The latest Africa Report profile of Djibouti picks out Abdourahman Boreh as the “most vocal critic” of Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh.

The profile says that,

From self-imposed exile in the UK, he called on the international community to bring an end to the violent tactics used by security services during the [2011] protests. Boreh, who was tipped to be Guelleh’s strongest opponent, withdrew his bid for the presidency after the violence of the protests and the DI’s [Democracy International] suspension.
