More protests planned in Djibouti against President Guelleh

Opposition groups are planning another anti-government demonstration on Friday, with up to 60,000 people expected to take to the streets to call for President Guelleh to step down to pave the way for free and fair elections.

Bloomberg reports:

Bloomberg Djibouti story“All the opposition are together,” Mohamed Daoud Chehem, head of the Djibouti Party for Development, said by phone from Djibouti, the capital city, today. “We hope there will be 60,000 people or more. We sent a letter to the Interior Ministry asking for permission, but we have had no reply.”
